The grandmaster of flash, author of The Hot Shoe Diaries, Joe McNally conducted a 2-day workshop at the Norris Conference Center.  The workshop was both educational and inspiring!  Joe stepped the audience through the camera and flash settings while demonstrating the different applications of on-camera flash to full on Elinchrom Rangers firing at the models to achieve ‘the look’.

Once ‘the look’ was achieved, he did not stop to go on to the next technique, but continued to create additional lighting challenges for different looks.  This inspired me and the crowd to not just settle for that one shot, but to keep learning and adjusting to the different lighting possibilities.  Hopefully, he’ll make his way back around to Houston with more stories and techniques.
